40.7%
increase in Immunoglobulin A (IgA) level after 6 weeks.
Clinical
A double-blind, placebo-controlled study conducted with Texas A&M evaluated shifts in Immunoglobulin A (IgA) levels in 26 healthy adult dogs (ages 1.5 to 4.5 years) over six weeks. The study compared E4L—a synbiotic blend of pre-/probiotics and bovine colostrum—to a base placebo powder, using the ELISA (Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay) test to measure Monomeric, Dimeric, and Secretory IgA levels. Stool samples were collected at baseline, three weeks, and six weeks to assess changes in IgA concentrations.
Key result: Data suggests that E4L’s pre-/probiotic properties combined with bovine colostrum help boost our dog’s immune function.

Why it matters
Higher IgA levels strengthen gut immunity, helping dogs fight off bacteria, viruses, and toxins while reducing inflammation.

70.7%
increase in beneficial bacteria compared to placebo after 3 weeks.
Clinical
A double-blind, placebo-controlled study conducted with Texas A&M evaluated the effects of E4L’s pre-/probiotic blend on the gut microbiome and beneficial bacterial growth in dogs. Over three weeks, 26 healthy adult dogs were randomly assigned to receive either E4L or a placebo. Fecal samples collected before and after the trial were analyzed using qPCR to assess microbiome changes and the Bristol Stool Chart to evaluate stool consistency.
Comparison: Dogs taking E4L showed enrichment in all four bacteria strains. Where beneficial bacteria increased by +1.47 log dna after 3 weeks.

Why it matters
Beneficial bacteria support a balanced gut biome, which plays a key role in digestion, immunity, and overall health.
1. Compared to dogs not receiving E4L
143.9%
improvement in Dysbiosis Index score after 3 weeks.
Clinical
A double-blind, placebo-controlled study conducted with Texas A&M evaluated the effects of E4L’s synbiotic blend of pre-/probiotics, bovine colostrum, protein, and omega-3s on the gut microbiome of healthy adult dogs. Using the Dysbiosis Index (DI), a qPCR-based assay that quantifies eight key bacterial groups in fecal samples, the study measured changes in microbial diversity and gut health. 26 dogs were randomly assigned to receive either E4L or a placebo for three weeks, with fecal samples collected before and after the trial to assess shifts in microbiome composition and bacterial activity.
Comparison: Dogs taking E4L saw 32.9% greater improvement in DI scores compared to placebo.

Why it matters
A diverse, healthy microbiome impacts everything from digestion and inflammation to allergies and skin or coat health.
1. Compared to dogs not receiving E4L
19.6%
better fecal score on the Bristol Stool Scale after 3 weeks.
Observational
An observational trial evaluated the effects of E4L’s proprietary prebiotic/probiotic blend on the gut microbiome and stool consistency of adult dogs, using the Bristol Stool Scale. Over three weeks, 26 healthy dogs were randomly assigned to receive either E4L or a placebo (13 per group). Fecal samples collected before and after supplementation were analyzed to assess changes in stool characteristics and the digestive benefits of daily E4L use.
Comparison: Dogs taking E4L improved their poo score 15.4% more than those given placebo – demonstrating firmer, well formed stool.

Why it matters
Firm, well-formed poops reflect good digestion and nutrient absorption—key signs of better energy and wellness.
